Ninety Years In The Making By Wendy Mellor  Inspiring, Though Provoking, Emotional Genre: Autobiography Wendy, the author approached me asking if I would read and review her book. I was flattered to actually be asked and of course said yes. When she offered to actually send it to me, I was so excited and felt like an actual proper reviewer! I also knew that my opinion on this book was important to Wendy as it is so personal to her, the memoirs of her lovely mum. The pressure was on, not only to produce a review worthy of her work, but also I haven't always thought that Autobiographical reviews are my best writing. The initial thing that really drew me in on a very personal basis was that Wendy and her family are from the North in the UK. My mother's side of the family live in Cheshire. People from these parts are well know for their straight talking, but also being very family orientated and so I knew that this was going to be a good wholesome read and I wasn't disappointed

The Slumpton Rats By J.S Guthrie

Charming, Magical Imaginative The Slumpton Rats by John Guthrie, Author Genre: Children's Fiction Slither, the self proclaimed 'King Of The Rats' is currently running Rat City along with his human sidekick Dross. He has one aim in his sights, & that is to rid the docks of the Ditchpoles. So, when they flee whilst everyone is sleeping, Slither vows to find them & bring them back so that he may serve his own revenge on the family. However, what he hasn't bargained on are the friends & allies that the Ditchpoles make on their travels. So, I received this book as a gift, a bonus book from the author along with a copy of another novel that I had previously read, loved & reviewed. Initially, I was dubious, as a book about Rats wouldn't normally be my go to read. I also thought the cover to be uninspiring. However, as I am learning on my book reviewing journey & as the old saying goes 'never judge a book by its cover', is more often th

Hard Going, Comprehensive, Repetitive Genre: Contemporary Fiction/Chicklit Andrea was waiting on a call back, the interview hadn't exactly gone how she was hoping it would. She had applied to Ellias Clarke, ideally for a writer/editorial position. Writing had been all she'd ever wanted to do for as long as she could remember. The Ellias Clarke Building comprised of a number of magazine publications. Andy had memorised the names of every publication, plus it's Editor-In-Chief and anyone else who she felt might be relevant enough to be brought up. But, as fate would dictate, she was of course questioned about the one that she couldn't recall, & when asked for the name of Runway's infamous Editor-In-Chief she had.... nothing. The telephone finally rings and the woman from Human Resources who interviewed Andy, cheerfully congratulates her on being offered the post of Miranda Priestly's second Personal Assistant at Runway. Andy is about to discover that working

Warm, Emotional, Humorous Genre: Contemporary Fiction/Romance/ Domestic/Domestic Abuse 'The Gift Of Friends' By Emma Hannigan It is moving day for Danielle & Justin. As she stands outside No 10 Kingfisher Road, Danielle feels apprehensive about all the changes currently taking place in her world, such a contrast from the way she had originally imagined it playing out & in such a short time, making her question if it was all happening too fast. She'd had such a different upbringing from her fiance, & she had more than a few misgivings about her new way of life. Meanwhile four other residents had eagerly been awaiting their new neighbour. They (Maia) were keen to impress on her the community that they had so dilligently created between them, the supper clubs & the girls nights in. Maria, Nancy, Betty & Pearl had once all had a common aim...to one day live in this attractive, charming area, & here they were, doing just that with their families,
